| Abstract: |
| Mr. Xin Shuzhi's original manuscript of an outline of the Chinese and foreign science laws has been found recently. With reference to Xin's academic thought and scientific research in his later years, the author made a detailed textural study of the dictions and secret purpose of the manuscript, and also looked into the origins to find out the delicate meanings. It was, initially, realized that the manuscript was only a pure theoretical outline with the purpose of creating an anticipatory remarks of China's science in water and soil conservation. The so-called “Twelve Laws” dealt with the laws of controlling rivers with an aim to establish the position of China's water and soil conservation in world science community. Thus, the author gives a brief with deep meanings of the original manuscript. |
