Abstract: |
【Objective】This study investigated the effects of layer housing range mode with perches on behavior of laying hens and environment of henhouse.【Method】A system with feeding area, drinking area, inhabit area, active area and sawdust area was established. The system also included perches, feeding bottom net, feeding line, drinking line and laying nest.Using the tradition three ladders cage system as control, the behavior and concentrations NH3,CO2,and H2S in henhouse with 8 to 10 weeks old Highland brown chicken were observed and analyzed.【Result】Compare with traditional cage system, the lying frequency and time, walking time,as well as the stretching frequency and time of hens in perches system were increased by 733.33%,6 388.24%,102.44%,287.72% and 78.36% (P<0.05),respectively.The frequencies of standing, feeding and drinking of hens were reduced by 68.82%,67.01% and 60.75% (P<0.05),respectively.The frequency and time of abnormal behavior of hens were reduced by 82.77% and 58.04% (P<0.05),respectively.The time of tonic immobility of hens was decreased by 55.05% (P<0.05).The hens raised in the perches system had natural look and full coating. The daily average concentrations of NH3,CO2 and H2S in perches system were lower than that in the traditional cage system.【Conclusion】The perches system was beneficial to the biological habit of laying hens. |
