Abstract:
【Objective】Effects doping TiO2 loaded activated carbon (TiO2/AC) photo catalysts on removal of acid orange Ⅱ (AO7) by UV photo-catalysis were studied for seeking a photo-catalyst with high catalytic activity and easy recovery in wastewater treatment.【Method】TiO2 loaded activated carbon (TiO2/AC) photo-catalyst doped with Fe or N was prepared by sol-gel and curing impregnation methods using iron nitrate and urea as Fe and N sources, respectively.【Result】Using TiO2/AC photo-catalysts singly doped with Fe or N,the removal efficiency of AO7 reduced after the initial increase with the increase of doping amount of Fe(n(Fe)∶n(Ti)) and N(n(N)∶n(Ti)).The highest remove efficiency was obtained when Fe and N content were 0.1% and 3.2%,respectively.Doping with both Fe and N,the highest removal efficiency of A07 after 3 h photo-catalytic reaction was up to 90.5% when n(Fe)∶(n(N)∶n(Ti) was 0.2%∶4.8%∶1.【Conclusion】The photo-catalytic activity of TiO2/AC doped with both Fe and N was significantly higher than that of photo-catalysts singly doped with Fe or N through synergy effects.
