Description of four new record species of plant nematodes from Tibet in China
Abstract:
【Objective】The study was conducted to investigate plant parasitic nematodes species in the main cultivation areas of Tibet.【Method】The samples from root and rhizosphere soil, which were collected in the main cultivation areas of Tibet Linzhi,Shannan,Dazi, were extracted by sifting and Baermann funnel during 2006-2008.The nematodes extracted were heat killed and fixed by 4% formaldehyde, then mounted on slide for morphological identification under light microscope.【Result】Based on morphological characteristics, four species plant nematodes,Filenchus sheri Khan & Khan,1978,Cephalenchus leptus(Siddiqi,1963)Knobloch,1972,Tylenchorhynchus usmanensis Khurma & Mahajan,1987,Seinura oostenbrinki Husain & Khan,1967 were identified and described.Tylenchorhynchus usmanensis Khurma & Mahajan,1987 was found in samples from Linzhi and Shannan, while the others were only found in the sample from Linzhi.【Conclusion】The main morphological characteristics and measurements of the four species were similar to literature, just a little different from different geographical populations. This is the first record of these species in China.
