Effect of water on characteristics of light response of muskmelon leaves
Abstract:
【Objective】 In order to provide basis for theoretical water management of muskmelon culture, the effect of water on characteristics of light response of muskmelon leaves was discussed.【Method】 During July to October,2010,with muskmelon “Yipintianxia 208” as the experimental material, and under different water supplementary irrigation treatments of 60%(Ⅰ),80%(Ⅱ),100%(Ⅲ) and 120%(Ⅳ) of evapotranspiration for plant, the change of light responsive characteristics and relative parameters was studied by using pot culture.【Result】 With the increase of irrigation amount, net photosynthetic rate (Pn),stomatal conductance (Gs),transpiration rate (Tr),intercelluar CO2 concentration (Ci),light saturated photosynthetic rate (Pmax) and apparent quantum efficiency (ε) of muskmelon leaves all rose first and then decreased, and reached the highest under the supplementary irrigation treatment of Ⅲ.While stomatal limitation value (Ls) and water use efficiency (WUE) decreased first and then rose, under the supplementary irrigation treatment of Ⅲ, they were the lowest.【Conclusion】 Stomatal limiting factor was the main factor influencing photosynthesis muskmelon leaves.Supplementary irrigation of 100%(Ⅲ) of evapotranspiration for plant was suitable for muskmelon.
