| Abstract: |
| This paper studies the bruises of free impacts between pairs of apples.The results showed that the total bruise volume of two apples was linearly correlated with the energy absorbed. The total bruises volume and the contact area had a five-second power linear relationship. The coefficient of restiution varied in a non-linear manner with impact energy.It could be used as a threshhold for serious bruises in apple-to-apple impact. |
